If we compare the car with the previous generation, then this is definitely a step forward in all respects. And against the background of the eternal rival Honda Civic, which has become completely indistinct, the Corolla no longer looks ugly, but quite a solid and interesting car. The changes here are no less radical. The new design ideology, which we have already encountered in the new RAV4, manifests itself here as well. The interior turned out to be quite specific and evokes polar opinions. The interior architecture has changed completely. It became more interesting. The vertical high dashboard creates a feeling of spaciousness in the cabin, but at the same time deprives the passenger and driver of the feeling of comfort. The materials will not be a revelation, there is a lot of hard plastic and gloss. The organization of the interior elements is familiar to Toyota; many solutions, roaming by model, are used, to which Toyota owners are well accustomed. The designers made sure that the driver did not puzzle over where to put his small things, there are niches for phones, voluminous cup holders and large pockets in the doors, as well as a box inside the armrest, the lid of which can be moved longitudinally. But why are the center armrest and the armrest on the door at different heights? Trying to put both hands on them, you feel strange. Maybe this is on purpose, because this position is unsafe? The design is new, but most of the small elements will be familiar to current Toyota owners. The rest of the driving position left a good impression. You can sit on the pedals and on the steering wheel, there are enough adjustments, there is a lot of space above your head. The seats are quite comfortable, during the test I had to knock in traffic jams, it was comfortable. I liked the steering wheel, good rim thickness, comfortable buttons, nice upholstery. You can argue about the ubiquitous blue backlighting, but this, as with design in general, is a matter of taste.
